Last Day at the Games, but 7 More Weeks for Canada’s Northern House
February
2010
After 17 days of adrenalin-infused sport, inspired cultural performances and lifelong memories, the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games are coming to a close. Today is the last day of Games-time performances and programming at Canada’s Northern House. Dene Hand Games will be demonstrated at 11am, Frozen Toes Trio performs at 12pm and 1pm, Northern Legends drumming performance and audience participation is at 2pm and 3pm, and Crash the Car performs at 4pm.
It’s also the last day to enter the Canada’s North Contest to win one of three spectacular and symbolic northern prizes. Enter the contest before we close at 9pm tonight for a chance to win a nugget of Klondike gold, a Yellowknife diamond, or a tapestry from Nunavut.
Today in our Lower Level we’ll be showing the Gold Medal Hockey Game (Canada vs U.S.) on the big screen at 12:15 for anyone who’d like to come and watch the big game with us. At 5:30 we’ll be showing the Closing Ceremonies. Put on your red and come share the northern spirit and enjoy our big screen!
It may the last day of the Games, but Canada’s Northern House stays open until April! Residents of the Lower Mainland and visitors who are here for the Paralympic Games (March 12 – 21) can still visit us seven days of the week between 10am and 5pm until April 18.
