Canada’s Northern House Contest Closes on Sunday at 9pm

One of the most popular corners of Canada’s Northern House is the kiosk where visitors can enter the Canada’s North Contest to win one of three spectacular and symbolic northern prizes. Throughout the month of February visitors to 602 West Hastings have lined up to enter for a chance to win one of three northern treasures.

There’s gold in them thar hills, and that promise of striking it rich has helped draw many visitors to the House. In celebration of its Klondike gold heritage, Yukon government donated a 3.8 Troy oz. gold nugget valued at approximately $7,000 CAD.

Yellowknife, NWT – the Diamond Capital of North America™ – has sponsored a .59 carat Government Certified Canadian Diamond™ valued at approximately $8,000 CAD. This Polar Bear Diamond™ was created in a cutting and polishing factory in Yellowknife.

Nunavut has one of the most artistic populations in the world, with almost 30 per cent of the population involved in the production of traditional Inuit art. One lucky winner will receive a beautiful tapestry donated by the Uqqurmiut Centre for Arts and Crafts entitled Qaqqilutuk (Camp Site) created by artists Malaya Akulukjuk and Anna Etuangat and valued at approximately $5,000 CAD.

Canada’s Northern House stays open through March and into April, but the contest closes when the House closes its doors for the day at 9pm on Sunday. Come down and enter to win!
